FISHING LINE RECYCLING

Recycle your used, tangled and discarded monofilament fishing line at one of our recycling locations.

Currently located on boat ramps and fishing piers on Lake Harding, Goat Rock Lake and Lake Oliver these recycling containers.

Chattahoochee River Conservancy staff and volunteers collect your discarded lines - where they get sent into a recycling center to be recycled into plastic products such as fish habitats.
Picture

Poorly discarded fishing line kills more than 100,000 marine life every year and can take hundreds of years to decompose.

This photo was taken in Downtown Columbus of a local Blue Heron with a fishing hook and line entangled in it.
