TRIBUTARY TRASH TRAPS

Bull Creek Trap

In spring of 2020 CRC installed a Watergoat trash trap on Bull Creek, located in Columbus, Georgia. A trash trap consist of a line of boys that span the width of a stream, collecting trash and debris.

This location was carefully selected due to the fact that several creeks that lie within our watershed join together on Bull Creek before emptying into the Chattahoochee River. By placing the trap in this location, we are able to trap, collect and remove hundreds of pounds of trash each month.

Mill Creek

In the Spring of 2021, CRC began the process of securing access and permission from the city of Phenix City, Alabama to install and maintain a Watergoat system along Mill Creek, a major tributary of the Chattahoochee River on the Alabama side.

Mill Creek basin moves significant amounts of non point source pollution and debris, and our team installed the Watergoat system during the summer.
